This week at the MSR Elementary Campus, our Senior Elementary Class had a very exciting astronomy workshop! 💫
Students in our gr. 6-8 classroom had the chance to learn about many of the fascinating features and phenomena in our solar system and the universe! They explored the lifecycles of stars, the formation of black holes, dark energy, dark matter, and the expansion of the universe! They also had the chance to use solar scopes to get a clearer look at our sun! ☀️
Thank you so much to The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada for sharing the wonder of outer space with our students! 🔭

Grace & Courtesy is at the core of what we do here at MSR.
Students can be regularly seen helping out their friends, tidying up their classroom, or patiently waiting for a teacher with a gentle touch on their shoulder. Through simple, intentional modelling and practice, children learn how to greet others, take turns, use polite language, and navigate everyday social situations with kindness and awareness.
We are so proud of the thoughtful ways our students care for one another and their environment. Kind people are our KIND of people!

For April Fools Day, students at Mayfield campus enjoyed some fun with homemade “Brown E’s”, themed healthy snacks and a hunt for googly eyes hidden in the classroom that did not belong. The day was filled with silliness, imagination, and shared laughter together!

This week, MSR Elementary held our annual Heritage Fair to celebrate all things Canada! 🇨🇦
Every year Heritage Saskatchewan holds fairs across the province, creating a unique learning environment for students to explore Canada in its many forms. Our students from grades 3 to 8 researched a topic that interested them and created engaging presentations showcasing what they learned. This year we learned about many interesting topics including Saskatchewan Fencing, the Hudson Bay Company, The Winnipeg Strike, Curling, The Northern Lights, and the Regina Humane Society. The students worked so hard on their projects, and we learned a lot about Canada!
Thank you so much to our amazing judges and parents for spending the afternoon with us! And a huge shoutout to our students and teachers for working so hard to on this event! We really couldn’t have done it without you! 🙌

Cézanne, a famous post-impressionist painter, is known for his still life artworks. Our little artists used paint and crayons to create their own fruits and sunflowers, discovering colours, shapes, and creativity the Montessori way!

What are the initial sound boxes? Each “box” is labelled with letters and children sort small objects or pictures based on their initial sound. The sound boxes are designed to help children with identifying the first sound in a word, connecting sounds to letters, and helps build a strong foundation for reading and spelling.
