As we honour Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we remember the children, families, and Survivors impacted by residential schools. We also reflect on our role in nurturing compassionate, respectful, and inclusive young learners.

The movable alphabet is a hands-on language material used to teach children spelling and word building! You’ll notice the consonants are traditionally red and the vowels are blue to help our students easily distinguish between them!

#ElementaryFeatureFridays

This week in MSR Elementary, an ambassador from the Terry Fox foundation visited our school to share Terry Fox’s life and legacy with our students. We also learned about how important it is to come together to raise money for cancer research and all of the good that it can do for people in Canada.

We will be participating in the Terry Fox School Walk on Monday and will do our part to continue Terry Fox`s Marathon of Hope! 👟

Today, we are excited to launch MSR Gives Back — an initiative focused on coming together as a community to make a positive impact beyond the walls of our school. 
 
While our #montessorimonday often highlights the materials and learning happening in our classrooms, this week we’re highlighting another important part of Montessori - helping children grow into caring, thoughtful members of their community.
 
Through small actions, we hope to create big impact and show our students the importance of compassion, community, and giving back.
 
We’re kicking things off with Run for the Cure on, Sunday, October 4th!
 
We invite MSR families to join us in supporting this meaningful cause. Whether you participate in the run, cheer from the sidelines, or simply help spread the word, every bit of support makes a difference.

School is back in full swing at the MSR Elementary Campus and that means the return of #ElementaryFeatureFridays!! ✏️✂️📓

Did you know that MSR Elementary now has a junior choir? This week students from grade 1-4 learned about singing together as a group and practiced keeping to their vocal lines even when those around them sung something different! We are so excited to hear the beautiful music that the choir will be making this year! 🎶🎵🎼
